Inês de Castro Gonçalves is a research scientist at i3S/INEB, with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Porto. Her research focuses on biomaterials, including the development of molecularly engineered self-assembled monolayers and polymers to reduce thrombus formation in cardiovascular devices. She is also an Invited Assistant Professor at FEUP, ICBAS and coordinates the “Porto de Crianças” initiative at INEB. Recently Inês and her team have developed a new technology called Smartcap for Cateters Sterilization, which aims to develop a reusable antibacterial cap for catheters using graphene as a biomaterial activated by Near Infrared Radiation to prevent infections. In this talk you will be inspired by Inês’s career, vision and powerful innovations.
