Julian Vincent, Phd is an english biologist and self-taught engineer whose work provides a unique interdisciplinary fusion of the Life Sciences and Engineering, leading into many other areas ranging from architecture to nanotechnology. Julian is a Former President of the International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE) and Honorary Professor of the Heriot-Watt University. He is currently developing an ontology of biomimicry for use in real-time problem solving with robotic agents. Julian’s projects can inspire healthcare innovation and one of them has already helped to improve precision neurosurgery. In his talk you will be inspired by the reasons why preserving the natural world is crucial for technological innovation and how biomimicry can be the key to solve many problems in healthcare.
