Mário Rui Gonçalves is a portuguese General Surgeon with experience in surgical education and practice. He founded the FirstTouch Surgical Academy and has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Abdominal Wall and Bariatric Surgery. Mário is a fellow member of the European Board of Surgery in Abdominal Wall and recently he was invited to create and coordinate a new Surgical Simulation Center of the Universidade da Beira Interior, that he called CUBI, In 2022, he won the Hans Jeekel Research Award for his original research on robotic hernia repair. Mário is a team player and welcomes new project ideas. In his talk you be able to discover new disruptive concepts and possibilities in medical robotics.
